100% Electric. This 4,600 sf new home operates solely on electricity. There is no gas, oil or liquid petroleum piped or stored for energy. It is prewired for solar power and a back-up storage battery, such as the Tesla Powerwall.

The goal is energy efficiency. A hybrid on-demand generation and storage system provides hot water. High-efficiency heat pumps provide heating and cooling. Individual Mitsubishi ceiling cassettes are installed throughout the house and are controlled either by hand-held remote controls or smartphone. The energy savings is substantial since heat or air conditioning can be manually adjusted or programmed to automatically increase/decrease in selected rooms.

The 2-story multi-gabled modified Colonial design is finished on the exterior with James Hardie cement board and white Azek PVC trim. It has 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, an open floor plan on the main floor incorporating living, dining and kitchen areas. There are two offices for work-at-home parents and a cooled IT room for computer equipment. The basement is finished with an exercise room, kitchenette, play room and guest bedroom.
